Send a Parcel To Denmark

denmark

The birthplace of Lego and Carlsberg, Denmark has a rich history when it comes to exports. With tourism to some of its major cities - like the wonderfully diverse Copenhagen - on the rise, the past few years have seen the Danish economy go from strength to strength.

Low unemployment and public finances which are often in surplus has made Denmark an attractive country to do business with. In fact, Denmark was ranked third out of one-hundred-and-ninety countries for ease of doing business with. Traditionally, Denmark has done a lot of business with its Scandinavian partner Sweden, but as part of the EU, it also trades extensively throughout the world.

Home to over five and a half million people, Denmark has everything from renaissance castles to offshore islands and enchanting fishing villages. As well as being a fantastic place to visit, the ease of doing business with the country has resulted in a near constant demand for parcels and more to be sent between the UK and Denmark.

At ParcelBroker, we can ensure your parcel arrives in Denmark on time in a cost-effective way. With our door to door service, all the stress that you usually associate with sending a parcel will disappear. Over the years we've developed an extensive amount of strong links throughout Denmark. FAQ

Do I need to deal with customs when sending from the UK to Denmark?

Denmark is a member of the EU, so at the moment there is no need to deal with customs when you're sending a parcel from the UK. In 2016, however, the UK voted to leave the European Union, which could mean parcels sent from the UK to any EU member country, including Denmark, could be subject to dealing with customs once the UK comes out of the EU. As of yet, there have been no announcements on the subject, but if anything does change, we'll keep you fully updated at ParcelBroker.

How much does it cost to send a parcel from the UK to Denmark?

The cost of sending a parcel to Denmark depends on the size and weight of your parcel. We offer a basic door-to-door service for EU countries from just £13.98 + VAT. There are also a range of optional extras available, including insurance and next day delivery.

How should I address my parcel for delivery to Denmark?

Denmark has a specific address format which requires a four digit postal code. The four digits follow the initials DK and a hyphen: for example, DK-8660 would be used to determine that the parcel is addressed to Skanderborg. 'DK' is a country code and refers to Denmark, although it isn't always necessary. We recommend that you check the address thoroughly before sending your parcel if you're at all unsure over the address format.

Prohibited Items

What items can I send to Denmark?

You're allowed to send any item to Denmark as long as it's not restricted or prohibited. Denmark has a similar policy to the EU when it comes to determining what is allowed to be sent to the country. They do, however, clamp down on a few specific items such as trees and plants, as well as bulbs and roots. They are also very restrictive when it comes to certain types of pharmaceutical products. For a full list, you can check the Danish customs site.
