With international pallet shipping, one size rarely fits all. The most suitable mode of transport is dictated by speed, cost, and destination, so our platform offers freight solutions tailored to your timeline.
For shipments into Europe, we use the Palletways Network. You get road service to over 20 countries, including France, Germany, and Italy.
Do you need to ship beyond Europe (to destinations such as the USA, China, or Australia)? We offer dedicated air cargo services. Choose between express air freight for urgent consignments or consolidated air freight, which combines your pallet with others to secure a lower rate on major global routes.
Use our online tool to procure an international pallet shipping quote, and you’ll get the reliability of a global logistics giant at a fraction of the standard price.
Since Brexit, shipping to Europe requires the same level of detail as shipping to the USA or Asia. For many businesses (and individual shippers), handling customs declarations is the most daunting part of international logistics. But missing or incorrect paperwork is one of the leading causes of delays in international pallet shipping. At Parcel Broker, we’ve integrated compliance directly into our booking flow. Our system guides you through the process of creating a commercial invoice, and you don’t need to be an expert to get it right. To ensure your consignment clears customs without unexpected holds, have three key pieces of information ready:
Vague descriptions often lead to inspections. Include details of what is in the package, i.e., what it is, what it's used for, the materials it's made from, and the country of origin.
If you’re a business working with an international pallet shipping courier, you must have an Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number – this links your shipment to your business for tax and security purposes.
Every product has a specific code that tells customs authorities what it is and how much duty should be applied. If you’re not sure, our booking platform has tools to help you identify the correct code.
At ParcelBroker, we pride ourselves on providing trustworthy international shipping at affordable prices. We ship to over 220 countries, working with the best couriers to help our customers send parcels safely. Whether it's a personal package for a friend or family member, or a business managing multiple shipments – Find out how ParcelBroker can help you.
When you’ve obtained an international pallet shipping quote and are preparing your consignment, it’s important to remember that freight passes through multiple hubs and vehicles before reaching its destination. To ensure your goods are not rejected by the courier and arrive intact, you must adhere to stricter packaging standards than you would for a local delivery.
You might be saving money on cheap international pallet delivery, but you should still use the highest-quality packaging materials. When shipping items outside the UK, you must use a heat-treated or fumigated pallet that bears the ISPM 15 ‘Wheat Stamp': this international certification proves the wood is free from pests.
Your goods must fit completely within the footprint of the pallet base. If boxes overhang the edges, they’re at high risk of being crushed by other pallets or damaged during loading. You may also face surcharges.
Build your pallet like a brick wall: place the heaviest items at the bottom and lighter items on top. If possible, the top surface should be flat and level to allow for stacking (which reduces shipping costs). If this isn’t possible, you must attach a ‘Do Not Stack’ cone or clearly visible labels to all sides (though be aware this may incur a surcharge).
Once stacked, the load must be secured to the base. Use pallet wrap to bind the entire shipment, starting from the base of the pallet and working upwards. For International pallet shipping, we recommend using strapping or banding for extra security.
Generally, no – the receiver pays. When shipping internationally, import duties and taxes are typically the recipient's responsibility.
You will need a commercial invoice: this is the key customs document that declares the description, value, and country of origin of your goods. If you’re sending consignments as a business, you will also need your EORI number.
ISPM 15 is an international standard that prevents the spread of pests in raw wood packaging. If you’re shipping outside the UK, your wooden pallet must be heat-treated and display the official ISPM 15 mark.
It will depend entirely on the service and destination. For Europe, our road freight services (like Palletways) generally take 2–5 working days. For global destinations (USA, Asia, etc.), Air Freight can take anywhere from 2 to 7 working days, depending on whether you choose an express or consolidated service
